About STXR:
STXR is a multidisciplinary music artist, producer, sound engineer, videographer, and high-fashion model originally from Minneapolis.
Now, emerging as a defining voice in the next wave of dark electronic music. As a founding member of digital.wav — an independent creative collective and media platform — STXR merges sound, visuals, and storytelling into a singular artistic identity that transcends genre.
Blending elements of darkwave music with electro-punk, alt-rap, and a self-coined sub-genre known as Electro Grunge. Raw emotion, hypnotic synths, distorted basslines, and introspective lyrics. His sound bridges the haunting textures of artists like Crystal Castles, Twin Tribes, Ash Code with the melancholic grit of Lil Peep, Kid Cudi, and XXXTENTACION at times.. as these are all artists he listens to on a weekly basis and throughout the years so this makes sense.
Raised on early 2000s punk rock from his older brother and then hip-hop in high school with the SoundCloud era, STXR’s evolution reflects a deep respect creation of music and for real life emotional storytelling and sonic experimentation. His high school years were shaped by artists like XXX, LUCKI, Xavier Wulf, Lil Uzi Vert and underground icons across multiple scenes as mentioned above, ultimately forming the sound of his genre-defiant style.
STXR’s creative universe is not limited to music. With a background in modeling for brands like Balenciaga and an eye for cinematic visuals, he crafts and directs much of his own content — from music videos to visualizers — infusing each release with a visual identity that mirrors the intensity of his sound.
In 2023, he partnered with producer JINN.EXE to develop Electro Grunge, a hybrid genre that fuses dark electronic aesthetics with punk-rap energy. Together, they’ve built a sonic world that invites listeners to confront the chaos and beauty of being alive.
